Project Update - Water Tower, Orange

Those who have been following us for a while now, may remember the works that were due to commence last year in Orange on a Water Tower, which also housed a family of Peregrine Falcons. As works were due to start, it became apparent that the Falcon had laid an egg, and to avoid disruption and stress to the expectant mother and chick, works were postponed until a time when it where disruption to the birds would be less impactful.

Our Regional Team, including Shaun Guthridge, are back on site this week, undertaking the necessary remedial works to the tower. The safety and protection of these animals is still at the forefront of these works, and the team are ensuring that the disruptions are as minimal as possible. A full environmental management report has been compiled to ensure appropriate measures are put in place to mitigate any environmental impact.

The Falcons are part of a FalconCam Project to study, monitor and record the breeding and natural behaviour of the falcon.
